a $15 million dollar Renovation and Re-branding;
Formerly Aruba Sonesta Beach Resort
ORANJESTAD, ARUBA (November 17, 2003) - The Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort & Casino is pleased to announce it is currently finalizing a $15 million dollar renovation.   From October 30 - November 2, 2003, as part of the final phase of the resort's rebirth, the property hosted 30 key travel industry influencers who participated in the resort's "Advisory Council." Throughout the weekend, discussion topics ranged from the relaunch of the "brand new" piece of paradise to raising awareness of the resort's stellar amenities, array of activities and the property's expansive physical presence.

Among those attending the three day program were top executives from wholesale companies such as GoGo, Travelocity, Expedia, Travel Impressions and Apple Vacations, as well as representatives from meeting planner companies such as B.I. and the travel trade media including Travel Weekly and Travel Agent magazines.   The advisory council met to discuss the rebranding process and provide feedback on how the resort should be re-introduced to the travel industry.

To show the resort's appreciation for their valuable input, members of the advisory council were treated to a VIP reception on the resort's 40-acre private island, enjoyed the property's live Vegas-style "Let's Go Latin" show and were shown the world premiere of the Renaissance Aruba's new panorama $1 million film titled, "Experience Aruba Panorama."  The panorama film is 22 minutes long and not only features breathtaking footage of Aruba, but celebrates the island's rich culture and history.  The film will be offered on five huge screens placed in a 155 degree curve (each screen measuring 66 feet wide by 13 feet high) to create a three dimensional effect and will be enhanced by superb sounds effects.  The film will be shown in the resort's Crystal Theater daily beginning November 17, 2003.  Finally, the advisory council was invited to enjoy a "sneak peak" at the resort's new Lobby Bar, named "Blue." Blue is located in the Marina Tower and serves a variety of appetizers and drinks to poolside.  The poolside lounge area will be transformed into "Blue" as day turns to evening and will feature an elegant, upscale, open air nightclub atmosphere where guests can enjoy muted blue lighting, jazz music and sip on Blue martinis while taking in the breathtaking Aruba sunset.  Blue is expected to be open to the public beginning early 2004.
