Most recently, Bishop served as vice president of sales of independent luxury hotels and resorts for Interstate Hotels & Resorts, overseeing sales, marketing and public relations of 17 hotels and resorts throughout the United States, including Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Beach Club. In addition, Bishop worked with MeriStar Hotels & Resorts, in several capacities including vice president of operations, and area director of operations, Atlanta. Bishop�s many accomplishments throughout her hospitality career include being a recipient of several awards including General Manager of the Year, Bronze Award and Human Resources Award while serving with MeriStar. Other experience includes developing international tourism in both the Asian and European markets while working with American General Hospitality.

�Having worked with Sawgrass Marriott Resort while serving as vice president, I have seen the resort grow from a being a major player in the golf and meetings arena to one of the premier meeting resorts in the Southeast,� says Bishop. �With the expansion of our meeting space to 56,000 square feet, the addition of our new 20,000 square-foot �The Spa at Sawgrass,� and of course our world-renowned golf, including the TPC Stadium Course, we have the ability to provide companies with a multitude of services not previously available.� Bishop also states, �I look forward to working with the Sawgrass associates, as they are filled with passion, commitment and excitement. I�m open to anyone, from housekeeping to the executive staff, wanting to help the resort reach maximum potential.�

Scheduled for completion on March 1, 2004, the new conference center includes the addition of 19,000 square-feet of meeting space including a 16,000 square-foot ballroom, pre-function space, and registration desk and office.
