WASHINGTON – October 25, 2003 – Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced that the 149-room Courtyard by Marriott in Chantilly, Va. has recently completed a major renovation of its guest rooms, lobby and public spaces.  The enhancements are based on feedback from hotel guests and are part of Courtyard’s nationwide hotel reinvention designed to meet the needs of today’s travelers.
“Courtyard was launched based on the needs and desires of business travelers and now we are reinventing the brand on the basis of new customer research and recent product testing.  Our updated design concepts provide greater comfort and functionality to our guests,” said Courtyard senior vice president Chad Waetzig.

The new guest rooms and public space have been upgraded with the addition of functional enhancements and new décor and furnishings.  Practical additions such

Courtyard Guestroom Enhancements:

Improved Workspace – A desk on wheels has been added to provide increased workspace.  The desk also doubles as a table that can be moved to eat or work in front of the TV.   In addition, new task lighting has been added and extra power outlets are conveniently located at desk level.

New Beds and Linens – The new bedding package is more comfortable and more inviting with a thicker oversized mattress and enhanced linens, new comforters and oversized pillows.

Bathroom Enhancements – The upgraded bathrooms have a modern, residential look with granite vanities, extra shelves, full-length mirrors, brighter lighting and louvered closet doors.

High-Speed Internet Access – Courtyard has made it a priority to offer travelers high-speed internet access.  Courtyard has more hotels installed with high-speed access than its nearest competitor even has hotels.  Courtyard Washington Dulles Airport - Chantilly also offers wireless internet access in the lobby and public spaces.

Courtyard has also redesigned its lobbies and public spaces.  In addition to the business library and pantry-style, 24-hour “grab and go” food and beverage area, a lounge area where guests can work, meet and dine in a relaxing setting has been added along with a wraparound front desk that allows more guest interaction and personalized service at check in and check out.

Located five miles from Washington Dulles International Airport, the three-story hotel offers 137 guest rooms featuring either a king-size bed or two queen-size beds.  Along with the features mentioned above, guest rooms offer a seating area with sofa bed or oversized chair, two telephones, a coffee maker, hair dryer, iron with ironing board, and a selection of most-favored TV channels, including a free premium movie channel.  The Courtyard Washington Dulles Airport - Chantilly also features 12 suites with a king-size bed or two queen size beds, refrigerator and microwave oven.
