Radisson SAS Signs Deal for Destination
Golf/Spa Resort in Ireland
Brussels, December 2003 Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, a brand of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, has signed an agreement to manage a resort to be developed on the historic Farnham Estate in Cavan, scheduled to open in June 2005.

The Farnham Estate is a 1,300-acre parkland with lakes, fields and woodlands.  The historic site will see an investment of 50 MEUR (approx. $60.5 million U.S.) to be developed into the Radisson SAS Resort & Spa, Cavan, a destination lifestyle resort.  The hotel will be built adjacent to the existing Farnham House, which dates back to 1780.  The project will include a 158-room hotel, a golf course, a state-of-the-art spa and wellness center with 30 treatment rooms, as well as meeting facilities and several restaurants.

Roy McCabe, owner of the Farnham Estate, comments: Together with Radisson SAS we will ensure that the heritage of the old estate will be enhanced, allowing its great natural beauty to be enjoyed by the public for the first time in four hundred years.

Kurt Ritter, president & CEO of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, comments: I am extremely pleased with our development in Ireland and the addition of The Radisson SAS Resort & Spa, Cavan, to our portfolio.  This will be our first resort in the country and once the project is completed it will join a short list of exclusive castles and manors in Ireland.

The architect for the project is Des McMahon of the Dublin firm Gilroy McMahon.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, part of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, currently operates 130 hotels in 37 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with another 30 projects under development.
