According to Hoagland, the hotel will maintain its four diamond rating.  �RiverPlace is one of eight hotel properties in Portland at the four diamond level. It is part of what makes this such an attractive acquisition. We plan to broaden the appeal to include guests interested in a premium hotel experience at a good value.�

Dave Murray, a veteran of the Portland hotel industry, will be the new General Manager

�I am thrilled by this new opportunity,� said Murray. �This beautiful property with its unique setting and great reputation is a standout in the Portland market. It is my intention to enhance RiverPlace�s reputation as �the� place to stay.

Most recently, Murray was responsible for the opening and operation of 249-room Portland Marriott City Center hotel.  He had served as General Manager since 1999.

Murray also served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Portland-based Heathman Management Group (HMG). At HMG, he provided sales and marketing direction for all properties, including the Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland and the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, Wash.

Murray has also held executive positions at Doubletree Hotels in Vancouver, Wash., The Greenwood Inn in Beaverton, Ore., where he was General Manager, and with Marriott Hotels. 

A graduate of Oregon State University�s Hotel and Restaurant Management program, Murray resides in Lake Oswego, Ore., with his wife and three children.

RiverPlace is an innovative, mixed-use development serving as the gateway to the North Macadam/South Waterfront Urban Renewal area. In the same purchase, Larkspur Hotels also acquired Lucere Restaurant, the RiverPlace office building, the Esplanade shopping plaza, and the RiverPlace marina.
