.
ORLANDO, FL/SAVANNAH, GA (August 22, 2003) Orlando based hotel developer Richard C. Kessler, president and CEO of The Kessler Enterprise, Inc./The Kessler Collection is pleased to announce that he has purchased the historic, Kehoe House Bed and Breakfast Inn, a 15,000 square-foot, twelve bedroom, mansion located on Columbia Square in the heart of the historic district  in Savannah, GA.  Kessler, who was born and raised in Savannah, also owns an 18,000 square-foot mansion located on 700 Drayton Street across from Forsyth Park and the Hampton Inn Savannah North.

The Renaissance Revival style mansion was designed by DeWitt Bruyn and originally constructed in 1892 for $25,000 by ironworks magnate and Irish immigrant William Kehoe. The Kehoe family occupied the house until 1930.  Over the next 60 years, the property had various owners and was used as a boarding house, funeral parlor and was once owned by Alabama and New York Jets football star Joe Namath.  In 1992, the mansion was turned into a Bed and Breakfast Inn and named the William Kehoe House.

The exterior is comprised of red brick, terra cotta moldings and iron.  All verandas, outside staircases, railings and trim and the Corinthian columns are made of cast iron, manufactured by William Kehoes iron foundry.  Eighteen fireplaces adorn the interior. With 12-feet high ceilings, intricate oak moldings and hard-pine wood floors throughout the property, the Inn boasts a collection of period furnishings and artwork.  It also has a modern elevator servicing all floors, a double parlor, music room, formal dining room, executive boardroom and a meeting room. An intimate side garden and a private garden courtyard highlight the beautifully landscaped grounds.

Through a renovation and refurbishment, the interior and guestrooms will reflect the sense of southern hospitality, history and romance with gilded mirrors, opulent fabrics and antique chandeliers.  Each guestroom will feature all-white queen or king- size bedding with contrasting colors in each room, armoire, stereo CD player, 27 inch color televisions and exquisite private bath with unique accoutrements.   Some rooms offer separate sitting areas and guests have the option of either a balcony or verandah view of the beautifully landscaped courtyard or Columbia Square.  The Kehoe House will re-open on Friday, September 12, 2003 for guests and functions.
