NAPA, Calif. (August 5, 2003) - Keith Rogal, founder and CEO of Carneros Partners, announced today the appointment of six key managers who, along with recently selected Managing Director Michael Hoffmann, will be responsible for the daily operations of The Carneros Inn in Napa Valley.  Situated in the heart of the Carneros winegrowing region, The Carneros Inn is the first new resort to be approved in Napa County in more than 20 years.

"This group represents a collective 80 years of diverse experience in the hotel and resort industry," said Rogal, "assuring that The Carneros Inn will provide an exceptional experience for its guests.  I join with Michael Hoffmann in welcoming each one to The Carneros Inn hospitality team."

Hoffmann, the first key management hire for the luxury hospitality property, boasts a 20-year  record of achievement in the luxury hospitality industry, including senior management positions at Four Seasons in Dallas, Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel and Boston, and The Peninsula in New York and Hong Kong.   He will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of The Carneros Inn, including the delivery of amenities and services for the property's private homeowners.

New key hires for The Carneros Inn include the following:

 * Jennifer Moss-Clay, hotel manager for The Carneros Inn, provides a wealth of practical experience as well as impeccable credentials from the prestigious Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland.  Starting at The King Edward Hotel in Toronto and then joining the Four Seasons Ottawa, Moss-Clay steadily rose through the ranks through a series of appointments at Hotel Inter-Continental locations in Toronto, Montreal, New York, Chicago, and The Mark Hopkins Inter-Continental in San Francisco.  Most recently she served as director of sales at the Vintage Inn and Villagio Inn & Spa in Yountville, where she was responsible for the sales, reservations and conference services departments of two four-star, four-diamond resorts.

 * Jon Makhmaltchi joins The Carneros Inn as director of sales, with responsibilities for sales and catering.  Makhmaltchi began his sales management career at the Park Hyatt San Francisco in 1997, where he facilitated high-profile client visits and developed advertising and public relations materials.  Makhmaltchi spent three years with the Park Hyatt compiling an impressive list of accomplishments before joining the Huntington Hotel and Nob Hill Spa in San Francisco in 1999 as director of sales and marketing.

 * Jeannie Jarnot, formerly spa director for The Sports Club/LA at the Four Seasons in San Francisco, comes well-prepared for her position as spa director of The Carneros Inn.  Armed with a bachelor of science degree in hotel administration from Cornell University, Jarnot began her career with the New York Palace Hotel in 1996.  In 1997, she joined the Norwich Inn and Spa in Connecticut as assistant spa director, managing the $12 million renovation of the resort's 24,000-square-foot facility.  Jarnot then brought her expertise to The Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley, Calif., where she again oversaw all aspects of a multi-million dollar renovation.

 * Teri Serrano brings impressive credentials to her role as director of human resources for The Carneros Inn.  Serrano began her career in the resort industry at Hotel Nikko at Beverly Hills, followed by a position as loss control manager for the Los Angeles Century Plaza Hotel and Tower.  Most recently, Serrano was director of human resources at the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach.

 * Milham Wakin is The Carneros Inn's controller and director of information and technology.  In his most recent position as director of information and technology at The Pacific and Caribbean Hotel Group in San Francisco, Wakin was responsible for managing the company's Web sites, maintaining information systems and supervising the  accounting staff.  From 1985 through 1999 Wakin worked at the four star, four diamond   Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena.  Beginning as night auditor, Wakin worked his way up to controller, where he was responsible for the development of accounting and information systems in multiple properties.

 * Wayne Weaver becomes the director of engineering at The Carneros Inn after having built an impressive track record managing successful resort property openings, including serving as director of facilities during the opening of Harrah's Marina Hotel Casino and the post opening of Trump's Castle Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, where he remained from 1980 to 1987.  Weaver also assisted in the renovation and opening of the Inter-Continental and the Forum Hotel in Chicago.  In 1992, Weaver came to San Francisco and assisted in the $58 million renovation of the Mark Hopkins.

The Carneros Inn will feature guest cottages furnished with casual elegance and nestled within the privacy of a lush garden courtyard. All guests at The Carneros Inn will enjoy dining at the Boon Fly Café; poolside lounging with panoramic vineyard views; gracious and serene spa facilities; and a variety of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting areas. In addition to the hotel accommodations, a collection of stylish resort homes will be located on the grounds, allowing homeowners access to all the services and conveniences of the luxury hotel, including concierge, event planning, and maid and room service. A civic space featuring post office, bocce courts and outdoor community fireplace will also be established on the resort property.

The Carneros Inn is being developed by Carneros Partners, long-term investor-owners who will also manage the resort and all its facilities. Carneros Partners is a small, privately funded group with wide experience in environmentally and socially responsible land planning, hotel and residential development, and hotel and restaurant operations.  The design team assembled for The Carneros Inn includes William Rawn Associates Architects (Boston), The Olin Partnership (Philadelphia), and Shopworks (Napa, Calif.).
