Choice Hotels annually presents the International Hotel of the Year Award to hotels that demonstrate lodging excellence. The Comfort Suites City Centre was nominated and evaluated by peer hoteliers who evaluated the hotel on a variety of factors including guest service, hotel cleanliness and hotel décor during several unannounced inspections. Once it achieved the Hotel of the Year Award for Canada, it was eligible for the International Award. The International Hotel of the Year Award was presented to owner Steve Gupta, president of Easton's Group of Hotels,

The Comfort Suites City Centre Toronto also received Choice Hotels Canada's Gold Hospitality Award and Sears Canada's Champion Award.

Mr. Gupta owns four Choice hotels in total, all of which are award-winning hotels. He will be opening a fifth hotel at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The Comfort Suites will have 170 suites and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2003. 

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Comfort Suites City Centre Toronto offers 151 oversized suites for business and leisure travellers, including a number of two-storey penthouse suites. All suites have high-speed Internet access, as well as video games and movies. Many suites are equipped with kitchenettes, whirlpool bathtubs and fireplaces. 

The hotel also features an indoor pool with whirlpool and fitness centre, business centre, licensed lounge, a gift shop and room service, and it will soon be welcoming a Casey's restaurant. The meeting rooms and banquet facilities are elegant in design and accommodate up to 150 people.
