  Hyatt International Appoints Four
to General Manager Posts
Chicago, IL, May 13, 2003 - Mr. Bernd Chorengel, president of Hyatt International Corporation, is pleased to announce the following executive appointments: 

Munir Ahmed has been appointed area director/general manager of Grand Hyatt Muscat.  Ahmed, a graduate of the Ealing Hotel School in London, consolidated his studies with management assignments with Trusthouse Forte Hotels and InterContinental Hotels in London and Riyadh prior to joining Hyatt Regency Riyadh as executive assistant manager - Rooms in December 1988.  In July 1989 he was appointed director of marketing and sales for Hyatt Regency Dubai with regional responsibilities for the Gulf States.  Following a further promotion to resident manager in Dubai, Ahmed was appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Riyadh in November 1993, and in November 1997 was given additional regional responsibility for Saudi Arabia. 

Patrick Hardy has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Saujana.  Hardy, a graduate of the Westminster Hotel School in London, consolidated his studies with operational experience in London, Riyadh and Johannesburg prior to joining Hyatt Regency Kuwait in July 1984 as assistant director of food and beverage.  Following further food and beverage assignments in Riyadh, Macau, Saujana, Adelaide and Taipei, Hardy was appointed manager in Taipei in November 1992 and general manager in April 1995.  His most recent appointment was to director - South Asia/general manager of Grand Hyatt Delhi.
 

Nicholas Heath has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Hua Hin.  Heath, a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Portsmouth Polytechnic in England, completed the Engineering Corporate Training programme with Hyatt Regency Crystal City and Grand Hyatt Taipei prior to his appointment as assistant director of engineering at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok in December 1991.  Following further engineering

appointments in Jerusalem and Guam, he was appointed director of engineering of Hyatt Aryaduta Jakarta in April 1995.  In December 1996, Heath was appointed director of rooms, and in February 1999 was promoted to his most recent position as general manager of Hyatt Regency Surabaya.

Rizal Kasim has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Surabaya.  Kasim, a graduate of the Bali Hotel School, joined Hyatt International in March 1992 as assistant manager - front office at Grand Hyatt Bali.  Following further promotions within the rooms division in Bali, he was appointed executive assistant manager - rooms in January 2000.  In November 2000 Kasim was appointed executive assistant manager - room s at Grand Hyatt Jakarta and in June 2002 to his most recent position as resident manager.

There are 209 Hyatt Hotels and Resorts around the world, which are managed by two separate groups of companies.
