Greg Champion Appointed Chief Operating Officer
of Tiburon Hospitality Management

 
CAREFREE, AZ . .May 8, 2003 . Tiburon Hospitality Management has announced the appointment of Greg Champion to chief operating officer.  

The Carefree-based company manages three award-winning resort properties including the 353-room Carefree Resort & Villas; the 190-room Daufuskie Island Resort & Spa off of Hilton Head Island; and the 254- room Ocean Place Resort & Spa on the New Jersey shores.

Champion has spent his entire 20-year career in hotel management and operations, most recently as the executive vice president of Noble House Hotels & Resorts.  During his tenure as executive vice president overseeing seven upscale properties throughout the U.S., Champion remained managing director of the acclaimed Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, the company�s flagship hotel, which has been ranked by Conde Nast Traveler magazine as one of the �World�s Best Places to Stay� and is home to the celebrated French Room � the only Mobil Five Star restaurant in Texas. 

Prior to joining Noble House, Champion served as general manager for six years at the 375-room Sheraton Anchorage Hotel in Anchorage, Alaska. Before that, Champion was general manager of the historic St. James Hotel, an upscale, luxury boutique hotel in Cimarron, N.M., which his family purchased and restored in 1993.  He also served as resident manager of the 350-room Dana Point Resort in Calif., and spent eight years in various management positions with ITT Sheraton Corporation.

Champion is currently a member of SKAL International and Chaine des Rotisseurs.  He has served on the board of directors for both the Dallas and Alaska Convention and Visitors Bureaus and was active in various tourism, culinary and hospital associations. His community involvement has included serving on the board of Junior Achievement and past president of the Alaska Boy Scouts of America.
