Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort Employees Earn
Hilton Hotels Corporation 2002 "$Million Go for
the Green" Award

Santa Barbara, California -- April 22, 2003 - Hilton Hotels Corporation has recognized its employees at Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort as earning top honors in the company's 2002 "$Million Go for the Green" Award. Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort is one of only 4 Doubletree properties in the nation so honored. 

Each year, more than 300 owned and managed hotels in the Hilton family (including Conrad, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and Homewood Suites) set their annual goals--based on their prior year actual results and projected performance. At the end of the calendar year, a hotel must have achieved their goals in all Key Performance Indicators on Hilton's Balanced Scorecard including Operational Effectiveness, Revenue Maximization, Brand Management, Loyalty and Learning & Growth.

Dieter Huckestein, Hotel Operations President of Hilton Hotels, Inc., and Dave Horton, Senior Vice-President of Doubletree Brand Management, attended the celebration ceremony at the Resort on April 11; and along with Resort General Manager Tim Bridwell, presented each eligible employee with a check for $500-his or her share of the "Million Dollar" performance award. 

The "Go for the Green" celebration ceremony (with an MC that appeared remarkably like Bill Clinton) included remarks from Resort joint-venture partner Fess Parker, Santa Barbara Mayor Pro-Tem Dan Secord and Santa Barbara Conference & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Margaret "B" Corkery.

Huckestein said, "Everyone here at Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort should feel a great sense of pride in the results they achieved; particularly in such a challenging year." Bridwell stated, "I am so proud of all our team members. 2002 was an extremely demanding year for the entire lodging industry, but we have all truly worked hard together to achieve our goals.  Achieving our "Go for the Green" performance targets and receiving this tangible acknowledgement is a great reward!" 

Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort is the city of Santa Barbara's largest hotel property, offering 360 guest rooms and suites on 23 acres. Guest facilities include heated outdoor swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness center, spa, beauty salon, gift shop, game room, putting green, tennis courts, basketball court, bicycle and skate rental, and business center as well as meeting/banquet space totaling 50,024 square feet. Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort has been welcoming and satisfying leisure travelers, conference attendees and business guests since 1987.
