NEW YORK, NY -- (March 17, 2003) - Sven Wiedenhaupt has been appointed
to the position of Director of Food and Beverage for InterContinental The
Barclay New York. Wiedenhaupt is responsible for the day-to-day operations
of the hotel�s food and beverage and catering departments. The hotel
has one restaurant, The Barclay Bar & Grill, in addition to a well
appointed Private Dining Room and eighteen beautifully designed conference
rooms totaling over 13,800 square feet with catering capabilities from
320 for receptions to an intimate dinner or meeting for 10 people.
Wiedenhaupt has over fourteen years of management experience in 4 and 5 Diamond properties. He recently rejoined InterContinental Hotels and Resorts from the Vintage Inn & Villagio Inn in Yountville, California, where he was the Executive Director of Food and Beverage. While in Yountville he created an entirely new Food and Beverage organization, including the design and opening of the Inns �restaurant �Cucina à la Carte. Prior to his appointment with The Vintage Estates, he worked for Marcus Hotels & Resorts in various capacities and at properties such as Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells, California, and the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Wiedenhaupt�s career with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts began in 1990, at the Hotel InterContinental New York (now The Barclay), where he was the Maître d�Hotel and the Restaurant Manager. He then went on to become the Restaurant and Bars Manager for the Mark Hopkins InterContinental in Washington, DC. The tri-lingual Wiedenhaupt holds a degree from the L�Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne and has been educated in schools around the world. |
