Investment Opportunity into Central and Eastern Europes
Largest Golf, Wellness and Leisure Resort

January 16, 2003 - The Travel, Leisure and Tourism Group of KPMG in Hungary has been mandated to identify equity partners into a tourism resort development located in one of the most well-known spa tourism destinations in Hungary.

Based on its success, the owners of the Birdland Golf & Country Club are in the process of implementing an expansion plan, to create Central and Eastern Europes leading golf, wellness and leisure resort.  This resort will include a four-star spa and conference hotel, a 27-hole golf course, and a residential component, and will be the first of its kind in the CEE region.

The owners have retained internationally renowned companies to assist with the realization of their expansion plan. Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo (WATG) has been appointed to act as architects and designers of the overall resort development. The owners have also formally engaged Radisson SAS Hotels and Resorts to act as the operators of the conference and spa hotel for a period of twenty years. The hotel, currently under construction, is scheduled to open in September 2003.

Located in Bük, near the Austrian border, the development benefits from its excellent accessibility from cities such as Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna and Graz. It should be mentioned that Bük, attracting approximately one million visitors annually to its spa, is an established tourism destination in Hungary, Austria and Germany.

The owners of the development are seeking equity partners to complete their expansion plan.
