BRUSSELS, January 13, 2003: Conrad Hotels, the award-winning luxury
group within the Hilton family of brands, adds another flagship property
with todays opening of the Conrad Bangkok. This hotel is an exceptional
property with remarkable features and an innovative approach to delivering
the finest hospitality.
We are delighted to announce the opening of the Conrad Bangkok which is our third hotel in Asia and our 15th worldwide said Clem Barter, President Conrad Hotels. We are confident that this exceptional hotel will rapidly be established as a flagship property in Bangkok - its strengths lie in the combination of design, attention to detail in service, training and delivering, all of which are specialist areas of expertise for Conrad, he added. Greg Meadows, the Conrad Bangkoks General Manager, who has many years of experience in Thailand, has been working with his growing team over the last 12 months on a detailed and ambitious pre-opening programme. He explained: With our meticulous preparation for the hotel opening, from staff selection to the choice of designer uniforms and exceptional interior design, we have set out to create a unique atmosphere and attitude within the hotel. Our service ethic, cuisine concepts and application of technology are highly innovative and there really is nothing like the Conrad - here in Bangkok or indeed anywhere in the world! The interior design of the hotel has been co-ordinated through the local branch of the American company Wilson and Associates. And the staff uniforms and accessories have been especially created by Pichitra, Thailands most creative and acclaimed fashion designer. The contemporary, 392-room luxury hotel is superbly located on Wireless Road in All Seasons Place - Bangkoks premier integrated office, retail, residential and hotel development - in the bustling business district, close to embassies, shopping malls and Sky Train transportation. The hotel has a number of unique features, including glass wall bathrooms
with free standing bathtubs and separate shower cabins while the guest
rooms, discreetly influenced by Thai decorative artwork, are unusually
spacious and are wired with the latest communications technology.
Unique Dining Concepts Some of the worlds most creative cuisine is on offer at the Conrad Bangkok with an exciting choice of restaurants and bars all planned meticulously and destined to make a big impact with Bangkok residents and hotel guests alike. Design, music, our new attitude approach to service have also been subtly integrated to create no less than four unique dining concepts:
