the hotel chain from 1st. May, making it 12 Gran Meliá hotels world-wide
February, 2003 - Sol Meliá has reached
an agreement with the Minamo corporation, owned by Miguel Mofarrej Neto,
to lease the luxury Mofarrej Hotel. The hotel, previously run by Sheraton,
enjoys a great location in the heart of the financial district of Sao Paulo
(Brazil), near the city�s central avenue and opposite the Siquiera Campos
Park, better known as Trianón. This exclusive hotel will be operated
under the Gran Meliá brand flag from 1st. May, 2003.

Meliá Mofarrej, will make it 22 hotels operated by Sol Meliá
in Brazil, 13 of which are located in Sao Paulo. The company has also scheduled
the opening of at least another 8 hotels over the next three years.
The Gran Meliá Mofarrej provides 245 luxury guestrooms and one
Presidential Suite of 800 m2, and confirms the interest of Sol Meliá
in promoting the development of the Gran Meliá hotel brand.
