Royal Capri Resort & Spa Under Construction
in Riviera Maya, Mexico
Riviera Maya, Mexico (October 8, 2002) – The new, 5-star Royal Capri Resort & Spa, destined to be one of the region's most distinctive and lavish resorts, will open on the sugar-white sand beaches of Riviera Maya, Mexico in November 2003 according to the company's Executive Vice President, Kevin Wojciechowski. Located 35 minutes south of Cancun on the Caribbean Sea, the Riviera Maya is a place of unsurpassed natural beauty with vast acreage of pristine shoreline. Royal Capri will be an extraordinary addition to the destination -- a very privileged luxury, full-service, inclusive resort that will feature a world-class spa, meeting facilities and a host of amenities for the discerning traveler.

According to Wojciechowski, "Royal Capri represents a visionary partnership between the mystery of the Mayan culture and the vibrancy of the Mediterranean, blended with modern hotel facilities and services. Our intent is to preserve and honor the essence of the Mayan region, complete with a twist of indulgence. Guests will receive a one-of-a-kind travel experience, immersed in the culture while enjoying an upscale hotel experience. Our membership in Preferred Hotels® & Resorts Worldwide is a testament that we will provide the highest standards of quality and extraordinary service."

Every detail of Royal Capri Resort & Spa, from the intricate planning, construction standards and luxurious appointments, are exceptional. Perhaps one of the resort's most unique features is the first and only of its kind in the region, Spa Garden, providing a sublime atmosphere of pure indulgence. The Spa Garden is perfect for those guests seeking a sanctuary for the senses. This unusual jewel is situated in an outdoor, lush, tropical garden setting and epitomizes the Royal Capri Spa experience of romance, indulgence and rejuvenation. The indoor section of The Spa also provides a variety of indulgences including private Vichy and Swiss Showers, Jacuzzi baths and steam rooms. The Spa combines hydro-therapy and indigenous treatments creating a refreshing, invigorating and peaceful experience. Spa pedicures, spa manicures and spa facials round out the services and are all available in the resort's full service beauty salon.

The resort boasts 288 luxurious guest rooms in three categories including deluxe rooms, junior suites and 1-bedroom presidential suites, each with a private concierge on each floor for truly unparalleled service. A majority of the rooms provide full views of the Caribbean Sea and the most magnificent scenery in the Yucatan Peninsula.  All suites and guest rooms feature a king-sized, queen or double beds, private and furnished patio or balcony, full marble bathrooms with a jetted whirlpool bathtub, a separate shower, water closet and double vanities, satellite television, air-conditioning with in-room climate control, sound system with in-house music channels, CD/DVD player, a direct dial telephone with internet data port, an alarm clock, an electronic in-room safe, coffee/tea maker and a mini bar stocked with wine, beer, soft drinks and water.

Pleasant ambiance and outstanding cuisine are sure to bring accolades to the resort's four a la carte specialty restaurants. "Our guests will expect their dining experiences to be nothing less than outstanding," says Wojciechowski. "And we will constantly strive to bring originality to our menus and exceed their expectations. There's every indication that this recipe for success will work for us."

Caribbean ease and comfort are prominent throughout the meetings facilities, which can accommodate up to 600 persons within 8,400-square feet of meeting space.  Wojciechowski anticipates that the facilities will make up a large part of the resort's market. "This extensive meeting facility is ideal for corporate meetings, groups and incentive travelers. Our state-of-the-art facilities are unrivaled, and what's better than combining the mystique of the Riviera Maya and its multitude of attractions with your next meeting or seminar."

Resort amenities include boutique and gift shops, welcome champagne and cool towel, unlimited natural fruit juices and soft drinks, unlimited alcoholic beverages, pool and beach waiter service, a 16,145 sq. ft swimming pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, non-motorized water sports (sail, windsurf, sea kayak, snorkel), daily activities, tennis clinics, squash, library, pool bar, piano bar, jazz club featuring live music, a full service cardio-conditioning/fitness facility with a full range of activity and exercise equipment including treadmills, lifecycles and step machines and the Vita Parcours Fitness Trail, which provides a scenic, tropical route for walkers and joggers.

When night falls, enjoy the sounds of the Riviera Maya's very own jazz club, Sax on the Beach, or relax with an intimate evening in Ivories Piano Bar, as the resort's resident pianist plays late into the night.

Royal Capri Resort & Spa will truly reflect the beauty and splendor of the Riviera Maya. Surrounding a string of sparkling beaches, Mayan archeological sites, tropical coves and a number of cultural and adventurous attractions, the Riviera Maya provides seclusion from the bustling action of the nearby cities. The world's second largest barrier reef lays just offshore while underground rivers, caves and jungles lure adventure-lovers. Exotic animal life inhabits the area's scrub rain forests, affording visitors nature-bound excursions. Eco-Adventure attractions at Tres Rios and Xel-Há showcase the region's unique ecology while Mayan archaeological sites pepper the region. The mixture of developed sites and unexcavated ruins make for adventurous exploration into the region's mysterious Mayan past.
