 Hampton® Opens Four Hotels in September 2002
MEMPHIS, Tenn., October 3, 2002 � Hampton®, the national brand of more than 1,100 mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites® hotels, today announced that it opened four Hampton hotels in September of 2002, representing 396 rooms.  The properties include two Hampton Inn hotels and two Hampton Inn & Suites, bringing the brand�s total portfolio to 1,193 hotels comprised of 122,116 rooms.

�Through the first nine months of 2002, development of the new Hampton Inn & Suites product has been gaining momentum and currently is about even with the Hampton Inn product,� said Phil Cordell, senior vice-president, Hampton brand management.  "Our new Hampton Inn & Suites prototype continues to gain interest among the hotel development community, who see the benefits of developing a recognized brand under the Hilton Family of Hotels with a the strong customer base, coupled with the fact that Hampton continues to grow market share in the current economic environment.�

Hartford-Airport, CT 9/26/02 110 rooms
Bordentown, NJ 9/16/02 72 rooms

Hampton Inn & Suites Hotels 
Augusta-West, GA 9/20/02 83 rooms
Baltimore-Arundel Mills, MD 9/17/02 131 rooms

TOTAL:  4 Hotels  396  rooms
