Upland, Calif.—(Oct. 8, 2002) Ask some companies for information about their products and what you get a few days later is an envelope filled with paper. Although the information might be useful, most of the material usually gets thrown out, often with negative impact to the environment.

The revamped Green Suites International website, http://www.greensuites.com sports a new splash page that explains a number of key issues surrounding the business philosophy of the company and its ecological lodging solutions. The user-friendly, easy-to-navigate introduction page gives visitors the ability to hover over topics and get the skinny on: Our Mission, Who buys from GSI, Price guarantee, We understand hotels, We understand the environment, We understand the bottom line, Why be Green, What is Green, and Our Logo. A clearly labeled Enter menu button marks the entrance to the main website.

“Websites should be quick and easy to use and should provide just the right amount and type of information,” said John Boynton, East Coast Sales Representative for Green Suites International, and also the company’s webmaster. “We updated and expanded our content, but kept navigation simple because we know that people are as starved for time as they are critical information today.”
Inside the website, all the major categories of information are arranged along the left side of the page, in four groups: Company, Housekeeping, Engineering and Marketing. The arrangement is designed to let a visitor see at a glance what’s available content wise and get to it with just one click.

Under each of the four groups, visitors can find the following updated information:

“We’ve doubled the number of online Downloads we offer,” Burger said. “There are a total of 11 PDF files covering a variety of products, including the manual for Nature’s Mist and the owner’s manual for the Guestat digital thermostat, in both English and Spanish language versions, just to name a couple.”

Online documents in the Adobe PDF format can be viewed on any computer system through the use of the free Adobe Reader software, which can also be downloaded using the link on the Green Suites website. The universal reader makes viewing, and if needed printing, documents quick and easy.

Getting help with specific products is a lot easier now using the Get Info online form, which is available 24/7/365. With the busy pace of the hotel industry, having 24/7/365 accessibility to such an online resource empowers hotel operators to better utilize their time, according to Boynton. The form can be submitted directly and does not require a separate email to be sent as in the past.
