The Oceanfront Cottages, the resort's original accommodations with their gingerbread fret work and cathedral ceilings, have been totally refurbished and outfitted with Laura Ashley rattan furniture indoors and steamer chairs on the spacious patios. The Verandah Suites, a new room category, also have new furnishings and refurbished bathrooms with body showers made for two with five showerheads and a marble shower bench at one end. The 12' verandahs have steamer chairs with integral footstools and timber walls to ensure privacy. The popular Oceanfront Rooms also have luxurious new furnishings and upgraded bathrooms.

All rooms will have CD players and many, lighting dimmers. All air conditioning units have been replaced and other infrastructure improvements made. Public areas are being outfitted with new furniture, while watersports and scuba will operate out of traditional St. Lucian structures.

"Originally a coconut estate, 35 years ago my father, Dennis Barnard, built our family home at what is now Rendezvous.

Above all, we want to retain its lush 'garden of Eden' setting without compromising our guests' comfort and the intimacy of the resort. Our aim with the refurbishment is to upgrade Rendezvous to five star standards, integrating the enhancements into the setting for which the resort is known," said Craig Barnard, Managing Director of SunSwept Resorts.
