The Garden City Hotel, Long Island Completes Multi-million
dollar Renovation Under the Direction of
Designer Robert DiLeonardo
GARDEN CITY, Long Island, NY (Nov. 7, 2002) Since 1874, The Garden City Hotel has enjoyed a reputation as the crown jewel of Long Islands hotels.  Now that its multi-million dollar renovations are complete, the jewel is shining brighter than ever before.

Of all the recent changes, the most striking can be found on the hotels main level, where world-renowned architect and designer Robert DiLeonardo has redefined luxury and created two stunning dining venues
The Polo Restaurant and the Rein Bar and Grill.  DiLeonardos credits include full-scale renovations at The Plaza Hotel, as well as hundreds of resorts, restaurants, and hotels worldwide, including the award-winning Ritz-Carlton Sharm El Sheikh on the shores of the Red Sea.  At The Garden City Hotel, he has married a sophisticated European stylishness with the hotels signature polo theme a salute to the days when Long Islands famed polo set regularly gathered at the hotel.

While The Polo Restaurant is new, the culinary staff is the same talented team that made the original Polo Grill one of Long Islands top dining establishments, said Nasser Samman, general manager of the hotel.
Under the direction of executive chef Steven DeBruyn, The Polo Restaurant has unveiled an ambitious and imaginative culinary experience, complete with new gourmet menu selections that feature contemporary American cuisine, desserts and fine wines.  Menus may be viewed on the hotels new website at www.gardencityhotel.com.

Not to be overlooked is the more casual but equally stunning Rein Bar and Grill.  This full-service restaurant and bar offers a relaxed dining experience in an exciting setting complete with a cozy fireplace.  Rein features four plasma TV screens for your viewing pleasure and music seven nights a week.  The Garden City Hotels renovations also extend to all 280 guestrooms, where exciting patterns and color schemes have been introduced to create a stylish new décor.

Every one of the rooms is uniquely designed to make guests feel comfortable and relaxed, with luxurious new mattress and bedding collections, king-bedded pillows and picturesque views of the surrounding community.

Since 1874, The Garden City Hotel has taken special interest in each and every guest and has established a tradition of excellence by providing high-quality lodging and hospitality services for the Long Island and metropolitan New York communities.  A luxury, independent property, The Garden City Hotel serves as the perfect host for both corporate and social gatherings, with 16 meetings and banquet rooms and more than 280 guestrooms and suites.
