Larry Rose Appointed General Manager Wyndham
Bonaventure Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

 
DALLAS (Dec. 12, 2002)  -- Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR) announces the appointment of three management team members at two of its Florida resorts to boost the properties’ strategic sales initiatives and drive meeting and leisure business.  

At the Wyndham Bonaventure Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Larry Rose has been appointed general manager and Doug McLain has been named director of sales.  Additionally, Tim Corder has been named director of sales at the Wyndham Orlando Resort.   

“The value of a strong management team is recognized more than ever within the travel and hospitality industry.  Each of these individuals bring significant hotel management, operations and sales experience that will be invaluable to not only the Wyndham Bonaventure and Wyndham Orlando Resort, but to Wyndham’s Florida cluster,” said Jay Litt, senior vice president of operations, Eastern region.  “With Larry, Doug and Tim at the forefront of our efforts, more meeting planners and business and leisure guests will be able to experience Wyndham’s unsurpassed level of personalized service.” 

A 30-year veteran of the hotel industry with extensive management experience, Rose will use his existing knowledge of the Wyndham brand to oversee the resort’s operations and to continue to distinguish the hotel as the leading resort in the Fort Lauderdale area.  Prior to joining the Wyndham Bonaventure, Rose served as general manager at the Wyndham Greenspoint in Houston and hotel manager of the Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza. Before becoming part of the Wyndham team, Rose was area director of sales and marketing for Benchmark Hospitality’s Forrestal Hotel & Conference Center in Princeton, N. J.

As director of sales for the Wyndham Bonaventure, McLain is responsible for sales and marketing strategies and for directing group sales efforts to achieve revenue goals.  McLain comes to the resort from the Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa in the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort where he served as director of group sales and was responsible for the group rooms budget.  Previously, McLain worked at two Wyndham properties in Puerto Rico.  He was general sales manager Midwest for the Wyndham El Conquistador Resort & Country Club and director of sales at the Wyndham El San Juan Hotel & Casino. 

In his new role as director of sales for the Wyndham Orlando Resort, Corder oversees the hotel’s sales and marketing efforts and is responsible for meeting the sales goals and the rooms and catering forecast.  Prior to his current position, Corder served as director of sales and marketing for the Renaissance Worldgate Hotel in Orlando.  He brings more than 20 years of hotel industry experience to Wyndham.
