Industry Hall of Honor is pleased to announce its 2002 inductees:
The original Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor is located in the University of Houston�s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management. Within the complex are displays and memorabilia related to the life, career and accomplishments of each inductee. Dr. Ronald A. Nykiel, Chairman of the Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor stated, ��from the moving portraits in the �Leaders Gallery� to the visual displays and historic documents, a true �learning from leadership� educational environment is provided.� The Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor held its inaugural induction ceremony in 1996 when it inducted Conrad N. Hilton, J. Willard Marriott, Vernon Stouffer and Kemmons Wilson. Since that first ceremony, the following industry leaders have been inducted into the Hall of Honor: 1997: Curtis Carlson, Lord Charles Forte, Ray Kroc, Ellsworth

The Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor is governed by a Board of Overseers that has the primary function the nurturing and guiding of the Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor in the selection of new inductees based on the selection criteria. The Board of Overseers is made up of inductees or their designated family or company representative, as well as industry leaders. The Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor has also gained the support of and is recognized by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the National Restaurant Association, the Travel Industry Association of America, the International Hotel and Restaurant Association, and the American Gaming Association. Each of these association CEO�s is also a permanent member of the Board of Overseers. The 2002 Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 2 at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management. |
