  Simon C. Sloman Named Executive Vice President
of Meyer Jabara Hotels
DANBURY, Conn. - Aug. 5, 2002 -- Veteran hotel executive Simon C. Sloman has been named executive vice president of Meyer Jabara Hotels.

In the newly created post, Sloman will oversee all aspects of hotel operations for the company's portfolio of 25 full-service and mid-scale properties. He has overall responsibility for hotel operation, strategic planning, marketing and sales.

With more than 30 years in the hospitality industry, Sloman has served in various hotel operations positions spanning hotel locations from coast to coast and Hawaii. He has extensive experience in revenue management, direct sales and financial performance. Sloman was most recently vice president of operations for Best Western International.

Previously, he held senior management positions through successive mergers and acquisitions with Hilton, Promus and Doubletree hotel chains.
   
"Si brings a wealth of experience in all facets of hotel operations and will play a critical role in the development and execution of our future growth plans," said Bill Meyer, chairman of Meyer Jabara Hotels.

Sloman holds a bachelor's degree from Morris Harvey College, Charleston, W.Va., a master's degree from West Virginia University, and was nominated to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Sloman is a certified hotel administrator.
    
Meyer Jabara Hotels has a portfolio of 25 hotels in 14 U.S. states licensed under Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn brands.
