Westmont Hospitality Group Acquires the 504-room
Pan Pacific Vancouver from Tokyu Canada Corporation

Includes the 200,000 sq.ft. Vancouver World Trade Centre

Vancouver, BC (June 28, 2002):  Canada's Westmont Hospitality Group has purchased the 504-room Pan Pacific Vancouver and adjoining 200,000 sq.  ft. Vancouver World Trade Centre from Tokyu Canada Corporation. As part of the purchase agreement, the award-winning Pan Pacific Vancouver will continue to be managed by Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts and guests should expect business as usual at this AAA rated Five Diamond property.

Steve Halliday, Senior Vice President, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts America Inc., and General Manager of The Pan Pacific Vancouver, said the fit with Westmont is a good one, particularly with the company's extensive industry ties and strong presence across North America.

"In addition, Westmont appreciates our core values and believes in creating additional opportunities for our associates, the men and women who serve our guests each and every day," said Halliday. "Clearly, our emphasis on quality and customer service has been endorsed by the Westmont Hospitality Group, something that sends a very positive signal to both our customers and our associates."

Kenny Gibson, Westmont's Chief Operating Officer, comments, "The Pan Pacific's well earned reputation is a credit to the hotel's 500 associates and we know they will continue to build on the traditions and service which have set them apart from other hotels at home and abroad."  Gibson adds,  "There is no question that the World Trade Centre is one of Vancouver's leading office buildings and it's our intention to maintain those high standards.  So, from a day-to-day perspective, our tenants will see no difference in our regular operations."

The 504 room Pan Pacific Vancouver soars above the stunning sail-roofed Canada Place complex, home of the Alaska Cruise Ship Terminal, Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre and World Trade Center. A glass-enclosed lobby is encircled by a panoramic view of Vancouver's magnificent mountain-rimmed harbor.
