Martha Heagany Named Vice-President, Marketing
at Pinehurst's Barton Creek in Austin, Texas

25-Year Industry Veteran Adds New Role To Existing
Responsibilities As Vice President of Sales and
Marketing At Palmilla

VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. (February, 2002) The Pinehurst Company has announced the appointment of Martha Heagany as Vice-President, Marketing at Barton Creek in Austin, Texas.

Ms. Heagany, who boasts more than 25 years of industry experience, adds this new role to her existing responsibilities as Vice-President, Sales and Marketing for Palmilla Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico.  She will relocate to Austin, Texas full-time while spending a portion of her time at the Palmilla sales office in Orange County, California.

Most recently, Ms. Heagany served as Vice-President of Marketing at Daufuskie Island Club and Resort, overseeing all marketing and public relations efforts there prior to its recent transitioning to a private club product.  She joined The Pinehurst Company in 1993 as Director of Marketing at The Homestead, where she reorganized and established the Group Sales and Reservations Departments in the wake of the grand resort�s purchase by ClubCorp, Inc.  She later worked for ClubCorp as Director of Sales and Marketing for Quail Hollow Resort and Country Club in Concord, Ohio.  Ms. Heagany�s diverse experience also has included stints at The Breakers, where she worked as Director of Travel Industry Sales; Westin Resort/Hotel Intercontinental in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where she was Tour and Travel and Group Sales Manager; and Longboat Key Club in Florida, where she created the tour and travel department for the resort�s opening.
