Posadas Hotel Group Opens First Luxury Hotel
in More than 10 Years in Mexico City,
the Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec
MEXICO CITY, D.F. September 6, 2001 Fiesta Americana Grand, the luxury brand of the Posadas Hotel Group, launches its first property in an urban setting with the opening of the 203-room Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec. The 19-story luxury hotel boasts soaring views of Chapultepec Park and treats upscale business travelers to finely appointed art deco surroundings accented by indigenous Mexican art.

The first luxury hotel to open in Mexico City in more than 10 years, the property provides an intimate and exclusive venue for frequent-traveling CEOs and high-level executives demanding a departure from the ordinary.

"Our hotel is a special find for influentials seeking an elite business environment, characterized by

attention-to-detail and meeting space tailored for smaller, more select events," says General Manager Susan Devine, an American with the distinction of being the only female general manager of an upscale hotel in Mexico City.

Upon arrival, guests are immediately impressed by the lobbys focal point: a flower-inspired, art deco stained glass structure towering above the foyer accenting the adjacent marble staircase.

Atop the staircase on the second floor, guests find the hotels restaurant, Salammbo, a sophisticated bistro seating up to 120, and the more intimate sushi bar.

Designers of the Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec had busy executives in mind when they conceived their long-stay floor, featuring 6 suites with kitchenettes. This concept has the distinction of being the first of its kind in a luxury Mexico City hotel. The property also has three "Grand Club" Executive Floors where guests are treated to concierge-level service throughout their stay.

Steel, rosewood and earthy yet vibrant colors characterize the decor of the  203 guestrooms and 14 suites. Indigenous touches such as Tirol-style stucco walls, rustic artwork and Aztec-inspired lamps create a feeling of contemporary vitality while evoking Mexicos rich geological history. Capitalizing on the hotels superb location, selected rooms feature curved floor-to-ceiling picture windows providing panoramic views of Chapultepec Park and the Castillo de Chapultepec.

Other standard guestroom features include state-of-the-art technology including two-line telephones with speaker, voice mail and modem connection, as well as TV with  remote control, electronic safety deposit box large enough for laptops, minibars, coffeepot, iron/ironing board and hair dryers and lighted closets.

The 19th floor showpiece fitness facility provides an opportunity to enjoy more than just exercising with treadmills and workout machines facing magnificent park vistas. The pristine facility also includes juice bar, jacuzzi room with lounge chairs, locker rooms, and massage treatment facilities.

The Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec epitomizes the culture and spirit of Mexico City, blending modern essentials with rich historical textures. The opening of this newest luxury hotel is a tribute to Mexico Citys new millennium.
