Community Service" Award |
Pittsburgh, PA, May 8, 2001...The Hilton Pittsburgh is proud to announce
it was recently awarded the prestigious �Excellence In Community Service
Award� from the Pennsylvania Travel Council. The award was presented
at the Pennsylvania Spirit of Hospitality 2001 Awards Program in Harmony,
PA on May 2, 2001. The Spirit of Hospitality Awards are a means of
recognizing outstanding performance, commitment, and achievements in the
hospitality and tourism industry. Nominations were received from hotels,
restaurants, and travel agencies across the state of PA.
Community Service is a way of life at the Hilton Pittsburgh. The Hotel actively participates in many Community Service events throughout the year, including March of Dimes-Walk America, Boy Scouts-Canned Food Drive, Western Conservancy-Flower Planting at Point State Park, Salvation Army-Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, and Christmas Dinner for the homeless, United Way-Day of Caring, Adopt-A-Highway, and their best accomplishment last year, United Way Campaign 2000, where the Hilton Pittsburgh increased their contribution by 16% over past years!!! The PA Travel Council presented the Hilton Pittsburgh with a beautiful crystal and marble trophy which will be displayed in the lobby to inform guests that the team members are proud of Pittsburgh and help to support their local community! |
