Andrea Jennings Appointed General Manager
at Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada

GRENADA (June 19, 2001) - In keeping with its high service standards, Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada has appointed Andrea Jennings, a rising star in the Caribbean hospitality industry, as the property's new general manager.

Jennings brings 15 years of Caribbean hotel industry experience to her position at Spice, which re-opened its doors in December 2000 after a major renovation and refurbishment project.  She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the luxury property as well as be responsible for managing a staff of 125 people, ensuring total guest satisfaction, and helping build a strong repeat client base.

Before joining Spice, Jennings held the positions of assistant manager and general manager at Coco Reef Resort & Spa in Tobago, one of the premiere resorts in the Caribbean.  Prior to her work with Coco Reef (which began in July 1995), Jennings was the director of human resources and training for Island Resorts International Ltd. in Bermuda.

Jennings has traveled around the Caribbean, holding numerous job titles (in the accounting, food and beverage, housekeeping, front office and personnel departments) in various hotels such as Blue Waters Inn, Tobago; Crystal Palace Resort & Casino, Nassau, The Bahamas; Le Meridien Royal Bahamian, Nassau, The Bahamas; Turtle Beach Hotel, Tobago; and Holiday Inn, Trinidad.

Jennings holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management from the University of the West Indies Centre for Hotel and Tourism Management as well as a Masters Degree in International Hotel Management from the University of Surrey in the U.K.

"We're extremely pleased to have such a qualified and enthusiastic individual at the helm of Spice Island Beach Resort," said Royston Hopkin, CMG, owner and managing director of the property.

"Spice's recent renovation and refurbishment, which resulted in an expanded room inventory and a transition to a fully-inclusive plan, requires the attention to detail and management expertise and savvy of an individual like Andrea Jennings.  She's a welcome addition to our team, and I'm confident she will keep us on the path of continued success and profitability," Hopkin added.

Intimate and charming, the "new" 66-room Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada sits on Grand Anse Beach, one of the Caribbean's best shores.  Spice Island Beach Resort offers luxurious rooms, many with private pools; exceptional gourmet cuisine; numerous activities such as snorkeling, kayaking and sailing with Hobie cats from the resort's watersports facility, Spice Island Diving; a full-service spa facility; tennis; picturesque sunsets; spice-scented breezes -- and the option to do everything or nothing at all.
