Turkey to build tourism complex in Turkmenistan (Trend News Agency, Baku, Azerbaijan)

April 26--ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan -- The Central Bank of Turkmenistan plans to sign a contract for the construction of a complex of modern cottages with Turkish company Sahin Insaat Gida Tekstil ve Otomotiv S.T.S in the Avaza national tourism zone as the general customer, a decree of the country's president says.

Under the contract, the company will build 10 two-storey cottages, buildings of administrative, residential and commercial purposes, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, sports facilities, as well as external communication and systems of communication, electricity, gas and water supply.

The document orders to begin construction in May 2013 and commission the facilities in May 2015. Early this Turkish company has received an order for the construction of an amusement park in Avaza.

Avaza is the country's first free economic zone, where the operating investors, firms and companies are granted tax and customs privileges.

Turkmenistan has announced a number of international tenders for the construction of facilities here. According to official figures, the total amount of funds invested from the state treasury of Turkmenistan is more than $1.5 billion.

The first-ever International Tourism Congress of Turkmenistan is scheduled to be held in Avaza in September 2013.
