| By Matt Birkbeck, The Morning Call, Allentown, Pa.McClatchy-Tribune Regional News Dec. 29--| Three witnesses testified Friday before a grand jury investigating whether Mount Airy Casino Resort owner Louis DeNaples lied about his alleged ties to a reputed mobster, but there were no sightings of DeNaples. DeNaples, who was subpoenaed last summer to appear before the Dauphin County grand jury, was expected to appear this week, but did not. The identities of Friday's witnesses could not be determined. Assistant District Attorney Fran Chardo declined to comment on DeNaples' status, citing the secrecy of grand jury proceedings. The next grand jury dates listed on the district attorney's Web site are for late January. 610-820-6581 ----- To see more of The Morning Call, or to subscribe to the newspaper, go to http://www.mcall.com.
