Although we've all either been caught or warned about light buld sales scams, copy machine/printer data mining calls, dishonest maintenance product sales schemes all of which cost time and energy fighting and that supply over priced and/or poor quality materials, even those of us with many years experience occaisionally miss the details. In other words, both we and our phone answering people need to be ever vigilent for the lying sack of crap whose prime job task is to seperate us from our hard earned dollars.
Here's another company to add to your watch list - www.globalyp.net. They called to verify info for an 800 toll free directory. Since it sounded like a sales call, I told them I did not want to pay for anything. The caller assured me there was no charge. But, about a week later I got an invoice that says they will charge your phone number a monthly fee for the listing IF YOU DON"T CANCEL. Although they are clearly a fraud and are wasting my time, I will post as many places as possible. Even sent a note to our state association to forewarn others.
